Scoot Spain Guide · Costa Blanca
Alicante to Altea on a 125cc scooter, white lanes and a blue dome
About 45 minutes north on the N-332: Villajoyosa’s colours, then Altea’s hilltop old town. Pickup and return only in central Alicante — no scooter delivery in Altea.
The photogenic white village — from Alicante, not from Altea
Altea is one of the Costa Blanca’s most photographed whitewashed villages, with the blue-domed church of Our Lady of Consolation above the sea. Scoot Spain is based in Alicante: you collect and return the scooter in the city centre (or hotel) — we do not deliver to Altea itself.
That is the point of this guide: a full day trip from Alicante for cruise passengers, hotel guests and anyone based in the city who wants village atmosphere rather than a resort skyline.
Combine Villajoyosa and Altea in one day if you leave early. Parking in the old town is limited in summer — park below and walk up.

N-332 / CV-715Stop 2
Approach to Altea
Stay on the N-332 past Villajoyosa, then follow local signs (CV-715 / casco antiguo) toward the hilltop centre. The coastal stretch is mostly flat; the last climb into the old town is gentle but real.
Allow 40–45 minutes Alicante → village area without long stops; more if you linger in La Vila.
Stop 3 — the icon
White lanes and the blue dome
Climb on foot to the church of Our Lady of Consolation — Altea’s postcard. Galleries, craft shops and terraces with Mediterranean views invite a long pause.
Ideal if you want village calm, not Benidorm bustle. Sunset from the upper terraces is worth the timing.
Back
Same road south before nightfall
Return on the N-332 toward Alicante. Keep daylight margin — especially after a Villajoyosa + Altea combo day.
Hand the scooter back at the agreed Alicante meeting point within opening hours (08:30–20:00).

Yes — leave Alicante early, visit Villajoyosa first, finish in Altea for late afternoon or sunset, and keep fuel and daylight for the return.
