Scoot Spain
Rent a scooter for Altea from Alicante
Altea is one of the Costa Blanca's most photogenic whitewashed villages, with its blue-domed church and cobbled streets above the sea. You pick up and return the scooter only in central Alicante — no delivery in Altea. Combine Villajoyosa and Altea in one day if you book your scooter with time to spare.
Route: Alicante → Altea
Leave Alicante on the N-332 north and continue beyond Villajoyosa. For Altea's old town you can stay on the N-332 or follow local signs on the CV-715 towards the hilltop centre. Allow 40–45 minutes from Alicante to the village area, longer if you stop in Villajoyosa. The coastal section is flat; access to the old town may include gentle climbs. Return the same way with time before nightfall.
What to do in Altea
Climb to the old town and wander the white lanes to the church of Our Lady of Consolation with its blue dome — Altea's icon. Art galleries, shops and terraces with Mediterranean views invite a long pause. If pairing with Villajoyosa, visit the colourful town first and finish the day in Altea for sunset. Ideal if you want village atmosphere, not resort bustle.
Practical tips
Valid licence for 125cc (A1/A2/A or B with three years) and minimum age 21. Parking in the old town is limited in summer — use marked car parks at the village entrance and walk up. Wear helmet and vest. For Villajoyosa + Altea in one day, leave Alicante early and check fuel before the hill.
